You can have your first invoice out the door in about ten minutes. This guide walks through the whole path: account, payments, customers, first bill.

Step 1 — Create your business account

Go to the registration page and create a tenant account with your business name, email and password. You'll land in the tenant dashboard — that's your command centre.

Step 2 — Connect Paystack

Open your tenant settings and add your Paystack API keys. Start with test keys to try the flow safely, then switch to live keys when you're ready. Your fee rate is set here too — it controls the platform share on every payment.

Step 3 — Add your first customer

Create a customer with their name, email and phone number, and send the invitation. They'll get a link to set a password and open their portal.

Step 4 — Create a plan (optional but recommended)

Plans hold a name, amount and frequency — "Internet 20Mbps, KSh 2,500 monthly". Plans make subscriptions one-click and keep your pricing consistent.

Step 5 — Create a subscription or an invoice

  • Subscription — for anything recurring. Pick the customer and plan, and OrdaBill schedules the invoices.
  • One-off invoice — for a single bill. It gets an approval link and a payment link.
  • Payment goal — for a target with instalments. Pick the total, deadline and plan type.

Step 6 — Test the payment

Open the invoice as the customer would, approve it if needed, and pay through the Paystack checkout. In test mode you can complete a payment with Paystack's test cards without moving real money. Confirm the invoice flips to paid in your dashboard.

Step 7 — Go live

Switch to live Paystack keys, set your reminder schedule and late-fee policy, and you're collecting. See how payments and settlement work for what happens under the hood.
